Remove your Ledger hardware wallet from its protective packaging. Verify that the seals are intact and that the package includes the recovery sheet “Recovery Sheet (24 words)”, USB cable, and the card that says “Hello — Getting started at ledger.com/start®.”

Select your computer or mobile OS from the buttons above to download the official Ledger Live application. This app will serve as your interface to initialize, manage, and monitor your crypto holdings.
After downloading, run the installer and allow necessary permissions. Ledger Live checks for integrity (via cryptographic signatures) to ensure authenticity.
Connect your Ledger hardware wallet to your computer or mobile device via USB or USB-C. In Ledger Live, choose “Set up as new device.” The device’s screen will walk you through each step.
You will be asked to choose a 4–8 digit PIN code. Do not share this PIN with anyone.
Your device will generate a **24‑word recovery phrase**. This is your only backup to recover your wallet if your device is lost or damaged. Write the words (in order) on the supplied recovery sheet. **Never type this phrase into a computer, phone, or online form.**
Confirm the phrase on your device by selecting words when prompted—this ensures you recorded it correctly.
In Ledger Live, go to “Manager” and install apps for the cryptocurrencies you want to manage (e.g. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana). These apps run *on your device*, not on your computer, so your private keys remain secure.
In Ledger Live, under “Accounts,” add accounts for each coin or token you plan to use. After adding accounts, you can send, receive, swap, stake, and monitor your crypto—all safely.

If you made a mistake or lose your recovery phrase, you **cannot recover** your wallet. Keep the phrase securely backed up.
